NeuroVision™

We are pleased to provide the NeuroVision™ service to our patients. NeuroVision™ is a scientific method of improving vision especially for those with Amblyopia (‘Lazy’ Eye).

NeuroVision™ is an innovative technology that enhances sight using online vision training programs. It is a result of over 20 years of scientific study and it is the only clinically-tested vision enhancement training system based on the latest neuro-scientific technology and understanding (www.neurovision.com.sg). Basically, NeuroVision™ trains the brain to see sharper by performing a series of NeuroVision™ patented computerised and customised visual tasks.

How Does It Work?

The NeuroVision™ program trains the brain to see better by improving the way it processes and interprets visual information. It also improves contrast sensitivity. In other words, you can see better contrast and differentiate many different shades of gray. It is like improving a camera image from 3 megapixel resolution to 9 megapixel resolution.

What are the Available NeuroVision™ Programs?
 
NeuroVision™ programs that are available at Jerry Tan Eye Surgery are:

1)         NEUROVISION™ FOR AMBLYOPIA (Lazy Eye)

You may have amblyopia if your vision cannot achieve 6/6 and the difference in vision between your two eyes is 2 lines of visual acuity, even when it is best corrected with no other eye disease.
- NeuroVision™ for amblyopia is a FDA approved treatment
- It is used for patients aged between 9 to 55 years
- Patients suffer from amblyopia
- Patient must be self-motivated to see sharper and clearer
- Complete program is approximately between 40 to 50 treatment sessions

2)         NEUROVISION™ FOR POST-LASIK PATIENTS (NeuroLASIK)

- Patients must be aged between 18 to 55 years
- Patients who have had laser correction surgery done more than 6 months previously, but vision is not as clearly sharp as expected
- When post-LASIK patients have a residual myopia of 150 degrees (-1.50D) or less
- When post-LASIK patients have a residual astigmatism of 75 degrees (-0.75D) or less
- Complete program is approximately 30 training sessions

3)         NEUROVISION™ FOR LOW MYOPIA

- For patients aged between 11 to 55 years
- Patients who have myopia of 150 degrees (-1.50D) or less
- Patient who have astigmatism of 75 degrees (-0.75D) or less
- Patient must be self-motivated to see sharper and clearer
- Complete program is approximately 30 training sessions

4)         NEUROVISION™ FOR SPORTS VISION

- For people aged between 11 to 55 years who want to improve contrast sensitivity for daily activities such as sports
- When you want to see rapid movements better and be able to react swiftly and more accurately to various visual stimuli
- When you want sharper and clearer vision

Home Training

NeuroVision™ can be done from the comfort of your home but you must commit to at least 30 training sessions in front of your computer without breaks of more than 2 weeks. Each session usually lasts about 30 minutes and you will need to do preferably 3 sessions per week for the best results.

Personal computer requirements:

To enhance your vision, simply call us for an appointment to find out if you are a suitable candidate for the NeuroVision™ program. There will be a series of diagnostic eye examinations to confirm if NeuroVision™ is suitable for you. After which, you will need to purchase the NeuroVision™ software and install it in your PC to access your personalised online NeuroVision™ program.

You will be trained by our clinic staff and taught how to install the program after an initial session with us.
